#tagcodage signifie que l'on utilise des hashtags standardisés pour associer des informations en ligne à des sujets spécifiques, afin de les structurer et de les récupérer facilement.

Ce manuel présente des hashtags définis systématiquement pour quatre dimensions de sujet: les objectifs de développement durable, les activités économiques, les fonctions des administrations publiques et les unités territoriales dans les pays.

Les outils en ligne permettant de rechercher le hashtag de codage d'un sujet prennent en charge une classification rapide du contenu en ligne partagé. Dans un processus #tag2wiki, le contenu codé peut ensuite être récupéré pour curation dans des wikis en langue locale structurés à l'aide des quatre dimensions de sujet.

La proposition de ce manuel est que des changements mineurs dans l'utilisation des médias sociaux et d'Internet, lorsqu'ils sont effectués en collaboration et à grande échelle, accéléreront la localisation des connaissances pour le Programme de développement durable à l'horizon 2030.
