Having navigated similar difficulties myself, I understand the hurdles you may encounter. My goal is to support those struggling with general relativity by offering insights from my own learning journey. I’m not a physicist; I hold a degree in Electrical Engineering and have a solid mathematical background. I began studying general relativity at an advanced age and worked through many challenges to develop a strong understanding of the subject.

Through my experience, I’ve identified key topics where learners often get stuck. In this book, I aim to present these topics in a clear, accessible way to help you build a deeper understanding. This text is not a substitute for standard textbooks or lectures, whether in-person or online. Instead, it serves as a companion, stepping in to clarify concepts when you struggle to see the “forest for the trees.” I focus on topics that typically challenge learners, omitting areas well-covered in standard texts..

Vector Spaces, Tangent Spaces, and General Relativity: This chapter bridges the gap between the abstract mathematics of vector spaces and tangent spaces and their role in general relativity. Starting with the physics of the Strong Equivalence Principle, we explore how spacetime is locally flat, using tangent spaces as practical tools for working with vectors in a small, flat patch of a curved world. The goal is to make these concepts more accessible and spark moments of clarity.
